[Right? He runs that way and starts to shout his brother's name when he catches sight of him. Immediately he runs to him, grabbing his shoulders to pull him into an embrace.]

[ It's a good thing that he knows the sound of his brother, or someone probably would've seriously been hurt. He hugs him back. ]

I'll be fine, didi. We just need to figure this out.

[ He's pretty sure he hasn't upset anyone. ]

I'm also not in any pain.

[Pulling back, he grabs his brother's face so he can look into his eyes. As if hoping he'll see something.]

When did this start?

[ Those eyes stare right back at him, they're just unseeing eyes. Nothing strange. ]

Maybe five or ten minutes before I questioned the network and contacted you.

[He doesn't see anything strange. But that doesn't mean it's not there.]

I'll carry you home and we can look to see if there are marks on your body that would suggest something.

[He's not as familiar with curses but any clues they can get will help. That he knows.]

What is the last thing you remember before you lost your sight, gege?

[ His brother would always have a strength that rivals his own, it doesn't bother him any. ]

I was near water. So, something in the water.

[ One of the yokai, probably? Which one? He doesn't know. There's many yokai in Japan, isn't there? ]

[He keeps a hand on his brother as he looks around.]

If I help you, could you take me to where the water is?

If there is something in the water that cursed me, I don't want you getting cursed too.

[ The last thing he wanted was Wuque to end up cursed. ]

I could take you where it was if you help, though.

Our best chance is if we find out anything to help us. I will gladly take the risk.

[He'd let himself be poisoned and broken again if it meant saving his brother. Anything for him.]

How far did you go from the water?

[ He does not want his didi poisoned or broken. He can handle being blind for... as long as this curse lasts. They've been through worse, haven't they?

He stands by his brother's side, listening to their surroundings. ]

What do you see?

[ He, himself, knows what he hears, but he wants to know what his brother sees. ]

[Immediately Wuque starts to describe everything around them in vivid detail. Including the direction that they're facing and how far they are in relation to landmarks they're already familiar with. Nothing is left out, Xiaoyu is given everything down to the smallest little thing.

All to help him have a mental map.]

Where is the water?

[ His brother knows him all too well. He stays standing there for a moment before turning back the way his brother came, except a little more at an angle, really. ]

Come on.

[ Wuque might, just might have to make sure he doesn't run into anyone or anything. Especially when he started walking in the direction of where the water should be, compared to what his brother told him. Compared to the map in his mind. ]

[Keeping his hand on him, Wuque only adjusts Xiaoyu to help him avoid people or other obstacles. Otherwise, he doesn't interfere. He knows how good his brother's memory is and with enough details, his twin can handle this place without trouble.

He's just here to make extra certain of that fact.]

[ With the way his memory works and the details that were given to him, people wouldn't know that he was blind. Putting the place to memory is another reason he likes walking the city. Not just in case he goes blind, but so he knows where things are later, without looking them up.

Maybe later he'll even draw a map of the place. He turns almost last minute, still in the same direction, but further south before stopping. ]

[ He cants his head slightly picturing what was in front of them. ]

Four feet in front of us.

[Wuque nods and gentle releases his arm. He's already got his qi ready just in case, gathered in his hands and fan held before him as he approaches the water. If anything is planning on jumping out he's clearly ready to stop it.]

What were you doing here when you went blind?

[ Xiaoyu listens to Wuque's footsteps, but he's also listening for anything that might be in the water, as well. ]

Minding my own business. I was kneeling beside the water, it's cooler the closer you get to it. I turned, intent on coming to get you, and drag you out here with me.

[ He's glad that he hadn't dragged his brother out with him now. ]

[He glances into the water. So far he doesn't see anything but perhaps a creature that lives in there?]

It's a beautiful place.

[He's trying to offer comfort to him, of course. Even as he investigates.]

[ He doesn't seem as panicked as he should be. Though, he gets what his brother is trying to do. ]

Where you're at you should be able to practically see to the bottom.

I can. The water is crystal clear.

[Perhaps whatever creature did this is no longer here? Unless it's hiding in the mud beneath the surface.

Wuque steps back and returns to his brother.]

I think we should ask about water beings who might cause blindness, gege. There might be a clue in that.

Did you want to ask? And whoever I talked to on the network, I'll ask.

[ He feels his brother at his side and turns slightly. ]

We should head back home. Do you want to grab anything first?

If any of them know it can help. I suspect there is something in the water and I'd like to know what in the water would be eager to rush at us.

[Reaching out, he moves to touch his brother.]

I only wish to get you to the safety of our home. I'll lift you now if you're ready.

I want to know how long it has been doing it. If this is its territory and we're trespassing we need to know.

[ He feels that touch and nods. ]

I'm ready when you are.

Agreed. That's why I want to ask about water creatures. I can return here to ask questions after I get you back.

[Wuque then sweeps Xiaoyu right up into his arms before taking off, ready to carry his brother the whole way.]

So you're going to ask natives and non-natives, then? Or just the natives?

[ He leans into his brother and laughs. ]

I bet this looks the sight.

The natives first. If I can find no answers there I will turn to others.

[Wuque looks down at him in confusion.]

That sounds like a good plan.

[ The confusion in his brother's voice has him laughing slightly and he pats his brother's chest, shaking his head. ]

Most people don't carry others, didi. Much less their siblings.

But you cannot see and I will get us through the air faster like this.

[He literally is still confused here. This is a perfectly logical thing to do to him.]

You'll get it some day, didi.

[ He tries not to laugh and instead listens to the area around them. ]

[He has a feeling like he's missing something but he trusts his brother. If he feels it's not important that he should know then it must not be. So, he turns his gaze ahead of them so he can focus on getting Xiaoyu home quickly.]

[ No. It wasn't all that important. They were comfortable with how things were being handled, it didn't matter what others thought. ]

We should look up some of the lores of this place too. We've run into a few things since being here.

I will ask around when I look for matters later. There's likely plenty more we should know.

When my sight does return we'll head out, walk around a bit.

[ Not 'if' but when. ]

Agreed. We will be able to learn even more when we're together. I know you will see things that I won't.

[Honestly he can see things that Xiaoyu can't as well but he's too humble to say that.]
